Robert Franklin Watson

Robert Franklin Watson - father, husband, son, brother, best friend, friend to all, smiling face, jokester, follower of Christ, humanitarian, shoulder you could always lean on, the list goes on - passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 while sleeping peacefully next to his life partner Leti on May 8th, 2022.

Rob lived an extremely full and love-filled life. He was preceded in death by his mother Clarice Hawkes Watson and his father Harold Franklin Watson. He is survived by his wonderful wife Leti and two daughters, Natalia and Jasmin. His grandsons Pepper the dog and Kevin the cat (whom he loved so much) should also be mentioned.

He was born December 5th, 1959. He lived in many places throughout his childhood and graduated from Boise High School, in what he considered his hometown. He went on to receive his bachelor’s in business administration from Boise State University where he was a part of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He then began his job with Northrop Grumman, where he would work as he finished his master’s in business administration at Pepperdine University and continue to work for nearly 40 years. There, he helped countless small businesses all across the country.

He loved to ski. He began skiing at a young age and continued when he had the opportunity to until the end of his life. He also adored bike riding with Leti. They biked weekly and set their personal record with 29 miles. His favorite activities to wind down would be to throw on a Hawaiian shirt, sit back, have a beer, crack some jokes with his family, and finish it off by enjoying some time in his well-earned hot tub.

To know Rob Watson was to love Rob Watson. He made that task easy with his openness, kindness, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor. His goal in life was to make you smile or laugh; he fiercely loved his God, family, friends, and country. He will be missed by countless; his world lost a beautiful soul but became Heaven’s gain.

His funeral service will be at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, AL on Saturday May 14th at 11:30 a.m. It will be followed by a celebration of life at the Watson family home. Wearing spring colors and Hawaiian shirts are encouraged for both events.
