James Edgar Ferrell
1959 - 2015
James Edgar Ferrell, 56, was born November 11, 1959 in Boise, Idaho to Betty
LaRee Hymas and Leonard Warren Ferrell. He was raised in Boise's north end and
attended Washington Elementary, North Junior High, and Boise High School,
graduating in 1978.
James lived most of his life at home with his parents. The two seasons he spent
in Yellowstone National Park were the only times he lived outside of Boise.
James worked in local area restaurants as a dishwasher until 2005 when he
survived a stroke that left him disabled. The following diagnoses of diabetes
and heart disease finally took his life on December 17, 2015.
Family and friends knew him as JEF. He was an easygoing fellow mostly relaxed
about life's responsibilities. He could, however, be quickly drawn into debate.
In 2010, JEF happily became a resident at the Boise Samaritan Village and lived
there the remainder of his life. He very much enjoyed living there and the
residents and staff quickly became his extended family. JEF was a member of the
LDS church but, as an adult, he was never active.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother; his sister, Sandra Sue
Ferrell; and his twin niece and nephew, Theresa LaRee Ferrell and Leonard Alan
Ferrell. He is survived by his brother, Phillip Ferrell of Boise; his sister,
Judy Ferrell of Mesa, AZ and his sister-in-law, Patty Ferrell of Mountain Home.
He also leaves behind a niece, three nephews, three grandnephews, and five
grandnieces. Relyea Funeral Chapel of Boise provided final arrangements. There
will be no service and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made
to Boise Samaritan Village, 3115 Sycamore Drive, Boise, ID 83703.
